About the Committee Against Sexual Harassment

As per the guidelines of the NCISM and the Supreme Court of India, SIAMS&RC has established the Committee Against Sexual Harassment to ensure a safe, respectful, and healthy campus environment for all students, faculty, and staff.

The committee works proactively to prevent sexual harassment in any form, promote gender equity, and encourage open dialogue on gender sensitization within the academic community.

This email allows individuals to report concerns confidentially, safely, and without fear of retaliation.

Objectives of the Committee

  • To prevent and address incidents of sexual harassment within the institution.
  • To create a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and faculty.
  • To ensure that complaints are handled with utmost confidentiality and fairness.
  • To sensitize students and staff on gender equity and respectful behavior.
  • To promote dialogue on gender issues and create awareness about legal rights and protections.

Scope & Functions of the Committee

1. Prevention

  • Conduct workshops, seminars, and awareness programs on sexual harassment, gender equity, and respectful conduct.
  • Promote a culture of safety, dignity, and mutual respect within the institution.
  • Display guidelines and awareness materials at key locations on campus.

2. Complaint Redressal

  • Provide a platform for victims to report incidents without fear.
  • Receive, review, and inquire into complaints promptly.
  • Recommend appropriate actions based on enquiry findings, following institutional and legal guidelines.

3. Support & Guidance

  • Offer emotional support and guidance to complainants.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality during all proceedings.
  • Ensure protection against victimization or retaliation.

4. Education & Sensitization

  • Conduct gender sensitization programs for students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff.
  • Build awareness about recognizing, reporting, and preventing sexual harassment.
  • Encourage respectful and inclusive behavior throughout the campus.
